You don’t need to look into a crystal ball to predict that employee experience (EX) will continue to dominate your clients’ to-do lists in 2023. According to isolved’s last two annual HR leader reports, the vast majority are prioritizing it. Eighty-three percent said they were in 2022. And half say it’s because they want to improve retention rates—which comes as no surprise considering the tight labor market.

How can your clients go about boosting EX and what role can your PEO, ASO or payroll service bureau play?

Here are three ways you can help your clients achieve a stellar EX that sets them apart from their competitors and up for success in the new year and beyond.

Provide security when it comes to compensation

Despite being a fundamental HR function, the importance of payroll is frequently overlooked. This oversight oftentimes results in late or inaccurate paychecks. In fact, according to isolved’s Voice of the Workforce report, 25 percent of employees say their company frequently makes errors related to payroll and timekeeping.

Nothing zaps EX more than uncertainty surrounding compensation, especially as the threat of a recession looms. Help your clients provide their employees with the assurance they need. Deliver a solution that lets them process payroll in a few clicks while reducing the burden of keeping up with employment tax rates.

Centralize their training efforts

Employers are recognizing that the best way to ensure their workforce is skilled and ready to tackle new challenges is through reskilling and upskilling. And it turns out that “providing learning opportunities” is the top way employees say their employers can keep them engaged.

Reskilling is the training of current employees in new capabilities to prepare them for a new position within the company, while upskilling focuses on improving an employee’s performance within their current position. Regardless of the type of skills training needed, learning management systems (LMS) streamline and centralize the process. According to employees, more than a quarter (27 percent) of employers don’t provide access to an LMS, making it an area of for your clients to gain a competitive edge.

Engage their employees with technology

Employees demand simplicity when it comes to performing tasks like onboarding, accessing pay stubs, requesting and viewing PTO, electing benefits and taking learning management courses. Although 78 percent of employees say their company offers a modern HR experience—that includes access to digital tools to complete these tasks—there is room for improvement.

Disparate systems only add to the technologies employees need to access and creates challenges for HR teams who need to track this information. A single, intelligently connected platform unifies the employee journey and enhances the experience for the employee and employer. Self-service tools empower employees to manage their own data while reducing administrative tasks for HR. A win-win for all!

Embrace Change in the New Year

If the technology you offer your clients isn’t addressing the needs of today’s forward-thinking employees, it may be time to explore your options. Transitioning your PEO, ASO or payroll service bureau to a new platform can be daunting, but the right partner will make the transition smooth and streamlined for you and your clients.
