Solving Workforce Management Issues with Robust Solutions and Customer Support

Managing time and attendance manually can be overwhelming, especially for a company with a growing number of employees. Regional Industries, a solid waste and recycling company, faced these challenges head-on. 

Most of their 327 employees were full-time, including 10% salaried and the rest hourly, plus 2% part-time employees, so they needed a reliable human capital management (HCM) solution to care for their employees and ensure compliance and accurate compensation.

Tackling Time and Attendance Challenges

Regional Industries serves 20-25 municipalities, from small towns to large cities like Jersey City, NJ. Accurate and timely punch-ins are crucial for smooth operations, but manually managing time and attendance became overwhelming as the company grew.

Debra Kierych, the human resources (HR) and executive assistant at Regional Industries, explained that they initially worked with ADP. However, employees faced challenges with punch-ins and frequent system downtimes, which increased the chance of errors. At one point, they had to go back to using manual timecards. Generating reports, especially the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) report for government compliance, was also time-consuming.

By using isolved’s dependable punch-in system, they’ve eliminated the need for manual entries, reduced errors and saved time. “Having employees be able to see their hours without coming to me is a wonderful thing,” Kierych added. Additionally, isolved’s reporting capabilities ensure that all reports, including the critical EEO report, are accurate and compliant with government regulations, eliminating the risk of non-compliance and associated penalties.

Looking ahead, Kierych wants to increase employee involvement in self-service functions. While many employees currently lack smartphone access, the goal is to make them more independent in managing their data.
